Were We Ready For Robot Rebellion?
We had so much fun at Robot Rebellion this weekend! If you are thinking about giving combat robotics a try, you should just go ahead and do it. It’s a blast!

Last weekend we went to the University of Houston to participate in the Cougar Combat Cup. We decided to take 6 robots to this event – which might seem excessive because… well… it is. But there was a method to our madness.
After a much needed break, we decided to start off our 2024 season with a couple of combat robot tournaments. The first one was the
It seems like now is a good time to do a quick update on everything we’ve been doing for the last couple of months. We realize that we haven’t posted much at all lately, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been working hard!
Our combat robotics program is still in its infancy, but we still want to attend some tournaments now so we can start learning how this game works. With that goal in mind, Chase and Coach decided to participate in the NTBB August Battle in Ft. Worth, TX.
At this point, we think it’s safe to say that our racing program is moving in the right direction. We are still relatively new to it, but we are quickly learning how to make our cars fast and reliable.
For quite a while now, we had been planning to attend the Elite Dirt Oval Series event in Yukon, OK last weekend. We knew that there would be a ton of fast cars at this race, so a few weeks ago we set out to get some extra practice before the big day.
Over the last few months, we’ve been participating in the Square One Network’s V2X Challenge. V2X stands for “Vehicle to Anything” and the idea behind the program is to create innovative approaches to vehicle design.
Over the last few months we have been working on designing some ant weight combat robots. The problem is that we’ve never actually been to a combat robot tournament before so we have no idea if our designs are any good.
This weekend, Letourneau University in Longwood Texas hosted the Red Dirt Rumble so we decided to enter and see what we could learn.
Up to this point, we’ve had a very successful season in VRC. But you always want to finish things off with a strong finish in your state tournament. With that in mind, we had our robot tuned up and our autons ready for this one.
Last weekend we headed out to Colorado Springs for the Pikes Peak Signature Event. This was super cool for us because we’ve never been to the mountains before. We didn’t do a very good job of getting acclimated to the altitude but at least we did a better job of it than our car… because it died when we got to the top of the mountain Sunday night…
